With every flush, toilets and urinals spread faecal microorganisms into the air, settling on exposed surfaces and leading to the accumulation of a high level of harmful viruses and bacteria. Poor ventilation, coupled with visitors who lack proper hand hygiene, all add to the hygiene problems found in washrooms.
Bacteria, viruses, mould, fungi, and volatile organic compounds are found in the air and on surfaces, often leading to strong odours and the spread of infections. Masking agents and regular cleaning and disinfection procedures cannot fully control the spread of microorganisms. A single bacteria cell can multiply to over 8 million in just 8 hours, meaning despite traditional cleaning efforts, odours continue to prevail and pose a health risk.
COMMON HEALTHCARE PROBLEMS
Unpleasant odours
Increased absenteeism and staff turnover
Source of infections including salmonella, neuro virus, hepatitis A and hepatitis E, e.coli
HOW OUR WASHROOM SYSTEMS WORK?
The AirSteril thermal UV unit uses advanced technology to control bacteria, viruses and moulds in the air and on exposed surfaces without the use of fans and with very low energy consumption. The thermal convection system has been custom designed to ensure that contaminated air processed through the unit achieves optimum dwell time in the purifying chamber. After being processed, the air leaves the unit and then itself becomes an effective cleaning agent, destroying pathogens both in the air and on surfaces.
